The Bluegrass Guitar Home Page is designed to be a convenient source of information about the acoustic flat-top guitar and its use in Bluegrass music. Our goal is to help promote traditional guitar and assist players and fans alike.

Our site offers a wide variety of content. We explore the history and styles of guitar used in Bluegrass as well as popular artists. Our Guitars & Gear section looks at the kind of guitar used in Bluegrass, lists buying tips, explores other gear and more.

We have resources to help you learn how to play Bluegrass guitar, including learning tips, an extensive list of instruction materials, a study tune section and tablature pages..

A popular feature is our Top 10 Tunes page, where you'll find a list of the top ten tunes that Bluegrass guitarists like to play. You can also vote for your favorite tunes.

We're glad you stopped by, and hope you enjoy your visit. If you have suggestions or comments on how we can make the site better, be sure to contact us.

What's New
bullet Expanded Artist Links
We've just updated our Artists page to include additional links for each guitarist listed. We've added links to see instructional materials and CDs for each artist. Check it out on our Artists page.
bullet New CD Reviewed: When Pigs Can Fly
We recently reviewed a new CD called When Pigs Can Fly recorded by guitarist Greg Morton. This is a wonderful CD in the best traditions of Bluegrass guitarists and we wanted our readers to know about it. Today many of the best CDs are produced independently and it's more difficult to hear about them. Check out this CD on Greg's web site at GregMorton.Net.
bullet New Tab
Our latest tab is "Bully of the Town" and is based on Norman Blake's recording on his Back Home in Suphur Springs CD. This is a fun Carter-style arrangement. Check it out on our Tab page.
bullet New from Steve Kaufman: Four-Hour Bluegrass Workout Volume #2
Steve Kaufman's Four-Hour Bluegrass Workout is one of the
most popular virtual jam products, and now there is a volume 2 available. This volume has over 50 new tunes that you can practice at 2 tempos (160 and 210 bpm). Some of the tunes in the set are Cattle in the Cane, Jerusalem Ridge, Monroe's Hornpipe, Sweet Georgia Brown and Rawhide. This is a must have addition to your practice materials! Check it out on our Virtual Jam Resources page.

Doc Watson Content
If you're looking for the Doc Watson content formerly at Bluegrass Guitar, you'll find it on its own website called Doc's Guitar at http://www.docsguitar.com. The site has many new features, including an expanded search engine, photos, and learning resources.
